Film Overview
DEAD END KIDS successfully and ingeniously mixes historical and fictional characters, archival and original film footage, poetry musical comedy dance numbers and serious drama to illuminate key moments in the history of nuclear power. Not as dry as one might think. Rather, lively, entertaining, and educational, too! The film opens with the flowering of medieval alchemy in the 16th century and moves through landmark discoveries of physicists in the 19th and 20th centuries. Adapted from the very successful Mabou Mines Broadway play of the same name, DEAD END KIDS treats its subject matter in a surprisingly delightful, yet thought-provoking manner. Music by David Byrne and Philip Glass.
