Film Overview

Split into three fantastic stories, DOOMSDAY BOOK is an absolutely thrilling science-fiction anthology. “Brave New World” tells the story of nerdy scientist Yoon Seok-woo, who finally meets the girl of his dreams. Unfortunately, they both become zombies after eating toxic beef on their first date. It's a quirky and endearing apocalyptic love story. The second chapter, “Heavenly Creature,” centers around Park Do-won, a corporate technician, who is called to a monastery to determine if a Buddhist robot has actually achieved enlightenment. It's a brilliant story, full of terrific special effects that paint a picture of a very stylish future. The film closes with “Happy Birthday,” an adorable end of the world tale about a young girl who accidentally orders the destruction of earth when trying to buy a billiard ball online. Like the others, it's filled with lovable characters and a witty script that pulls you in immediately. Grim Armageddon scenarios become extremely charming and fun in the incredibly imaginative DOOMSDAY BOOK. (In Korean with subtitles) – E.F.
