DREAM ON!

Filmed with experimental and bold touches that recall the early work of John Cassavetes in tone and Jacques Rivette in its narrative-collage structure, DREAM ON! is a moving love story and a contemporary, L.A. showbiz comedy or errors. Naive and idealistic young actors start their own improvisational theater company, managing to survive by taking odd jobs. The lifestyles of affluent Hollywood society are satirized along with the seedy aspects of the counter-culture, forming the backdrop for the slice-of-life drama. Starring Ed Harris (“The Right Stuff”) as the group's director, the film's excellent cast includes Paul (Pee Wee Herman) Reubens and Phillip Baker Hall (“Secret Honor”) early in their careers in featured roles.
