Eight Men Out

In 1919, the Chicago White Sox – including Joseph “Shoeless Joe” Jackson and Georger “Buck” Weaver – are deemed unbeatable and underpaid. Scheduled to face the Cincinnati Reds in the World Series, they beg owner Charles Comiskey for bonuses but receive flat champagne instead. Hungry for money, several of the teammates can't resist when crooked gamblers offer them at least $10,000 per player to throw the series. But not everyone wants to be involved. Tension heightens when the desire to win is pitted against the temptations of wealth.
