Film Overview
This fantasy animation, set in an old Mexico of the imagination and woven into the musical composition “El Salón México” by Aaron Copland, spins the story of Antonito, who sneaks out of the house one night along with his burro and rooster to see a fiesta for the very first time. Before the night is over the three friends endure a scary trip through the forest, a found and lost love, a hard look at their poverty, a bully, a scary nightmare, a torrential downpour, a plunge in a raging flood, a dramatic river rescue and at last a warm welcome home. “El Salón México” has won New Visions New Mexico, Rome International Film Festival (Best Animation) and Independents Film Festival (Best Independent Animation) Animazing Spotlight (1st Quarter).
