Film Overview

What if linear time is an illusion? As a young girl, Simone witnesses the jarring murder of her mother in an industrial stairwell. Twenty years later and now in her early thirties, Simone is haunted by the traumatic incident involving her mother. In one dream Simone can control the sun. In another dream, her mother removes one of Simone's fingers, painlessly. Is it her mother she sees in the grainy security videos while at work? Simone lies awake at night sweating in fear; her husband comforts her as she realizes her mind cannot distinguish between reality and dreams. She lectures an unnamed audience about the fragility of time, but are they really paying attention? Are you sure you’re paying attention? ENDORPHINE, legendary Canadian cinematographer André Turpin’s heart-racing drama, is a phenomenal revelation of cinematic structure, upending narrative conventions for a brain-twisting cine-puzzle about time, trauma, and the persistence of memory.
