Film Overview

_Flamenco, The Fire Within _takes us into the world of contemporary flamenco and the tablaos of Madrid, where dancers, musicians, and audience alike seek out el duende – moments of magic in music and dance. Four dancers tell the story of their journey to flamenco and the spirit, the fire within, that animates their art. Mía, who left Texas for Madrid to pursue her love of flamenco. Sara, who overcame struggles to make her way in the world of dance. Gabriel, who brought his Brazilian roots to Andalusian form. And Rafael, who discovered a new version of himself on the stage. Flamenco, The Fire Within captures the rigor and passion that drive flamenco artists toward virtuosity – and transcendence.
