Film Overview

Eva Mozes Kor is very possibly the most perseverant human being on earth. An Auschwitz survivor, she and her twin sister Miriam were subjected as children to the infamous Nazi Dr. Josef Mengele's pseudo-scientific death camp “experiments.” Eva Kor has spent her life since 1945 coming to terms with her past; but unlike most Holocaust survivors, she has decided to forgive her tormentors. FORGIVING DR. MENGELE follows Eva's remarkable journey as she works to help people build bridges toward peace. Even as she describes the injections that made her desperately ill and eventually killed Miriam, even as she is taken to task, not only by Holocaust survivors, but by Palestinians furious with Jews, even as the Holocaust museum she founds in her adopted hometown of Terre Haute is firebombed, Eva remains resolute. The only way for her to regain the power of her humanity, rather than remaining an eternal victim, is to forgive the Nazis – even Dr. Mengele.
