Fox and Hare Save the Forest

FAMILY DAY SCREENINGS WILL BE SENSORY FRIENDLY Sylvia Vanden Heede’s popular series of Flemish children’s books jump off the page in this gorgeously rendered, action-packed family adventure. It’s Fox and Hare to the rescue as an egotistical beaver’s dam floods the forest they call home and sweeps away their best friend, the Owl.In a large clearing in the forest, Beaver, a short furry animal with a large ego, inaugurates his masterwork: a dam. With the help of two Rats, he blocks the flow of a small river, causing the water to rise and flood the forest. In no time, a giant lake is created. Beaver is very proud of himself, but there is no one to admire his handiwork. Elsewhere in the forest, Fox and Hare have thrown a party with their friends. After the party, Owl returns to his tree house to sit and watch, as he does every night, and discovers little streams of water flowing past his tree. He panics and flees into the forest, deeper and deeper. The next day, Fox and Hare realize Owl is missing, and they set out with their friends to find him. Instead, they happen upon the strange lake. Where has all the water come from? While they search for Owl, the water is rising, threatening their homes and the forest. Is Beaver willing to take down the dam in order to save the forest? And for what price?On Saturday, April 5, 2025 CIFF49 welcomes families of all ages for a sensory friendly and super fun day out at the movies. Lights stay up and sound turns down so kiddos (and adults) can equally enjoy the magic, in addition to hands-on activities and yummy snacks.Tickets are $12 for films shown as part of Family Day.
