Film Overview

GENERAL EDUCATION is a hilarious comedy that recalls the tales of Van Wilder and Parker Lewis. With graduation coming up, a tennis scholarship to a local college in hand, and a planned trip to Mexico with his best friends, Levi Collins has a Ferris Bueller-like handle on his life. But the world of livin' easy comes to a crashing halt when Levi learns he has failed Science and must take a summer class in order to graduate. Failing high school would really put a damper on whether he should follow his in dad's footsteps and play tennis or go to Arizona State where there are girls. Levi gets a little help from his friends as he maneuvers the rigors of class, college, and Chad, his nemesis. It's nice to know that when your father (Larry Miller) is trying to run your life, your mother (Janeane Garofalo) is a lush, and your future lays in the balance, there's always a way-out-of-your-league pretty girl crushing on you who you can impress with your science project. When crunch time comes, Levi must choose between making his father happy or making his own life decisions. And when Levi takes control, piñatas blow up. Levi Collins can't lose.–T.W.
