Film Overview

Friday night is hangin' out night for four young men in New York City. Tom is an actor who doesn't do too much acting. Johnny, a Puerto Rican and the youngest of the group, is smart and sincere, and toying with the thought of going to college. Willie is an angry young Black man who feels that racism is the cause of all his problems. And Vinnie, an Italian wanna-be whose real name is Fernando, manages to survive on the food and money he gets from his legions of girlfriends. Over the course of one Friday night, this tight-knit group of friends goes to all lengths in their search for a good time in the City. First time writer/director Joseph Vasquez has assembled a primarily Black and Hispanic cast that is refreshingly free of media-imposed stereotypes.
