Now accepting video submissions for the ultimate grand prize: a chance to have a baby. The purpose of the contest is two-fold: 1) provide one free in-vitro fertilization cycle (a $20,000 value) to a family struggling with infertility; 2) build brand awareness of the Sher Fertility Institute, one of the leading IVF providers in the nation. For some families who have faced years of emotional stress trying to get pregnant, heartbreaking miscarriages, and failed adoptions—not to mention a dangerous amount of debt incurred from so many previous IVF attempts—this is their opportunity for one last chance to have a biological child. But some infertility advocates staunchly oppose a medical facility that straddles the line between an act of selfless generosity and deceitful exploitation, calling the ethics of the contest’s motives into serious question.
