Film Overview

U.S. PREMIERE The Neo-Nazis in the little town of Prittwitz aren't doing well. Half of their members are spies for competing White Supremacy groups. Some of them can't spell “white power” correctly. Arriving in Prittwitz for a conference on integration and tolerance is Sebastian, an African-German author. Moments after arriving, he is conked on the head by a Nazi and loses all memory, able only to repeat the last thing said to him. The local Neo-Nazis, who want to invade Poland, see a chance to use him as the unlikeliest of messengers. But Sebastian's pregnant girlfriend and the one honest police officer in Prittwitz set out to rescue him and save the world from Nazi domination. HEIL doesn't tiptoe over the eggshell topics of Nazism, political and media complicity, or anything else. It pulverizes them with Jack-Booted glee and savage wit. Here is a jaw-dropping screwball comedy with its eyes (and heart) wide open. HEIL will dominate the world by making it helpless with laughter. (In German with subtitles) –C.R.
