Film Overview

The Arab Spring and Occupy Movements of 2011 brought government corruption and financial inequality to the forefront of the world's consciousness. HEIST is a documentary that asks the question, “Who is to blame for our current mess?” Expertly delving into the history of our financial downfall of the past 35 years, this is a documentary that challenges those who believe the Occupiers were a bunch of unemployed, hippie, lazy kids who just wanted to be handed everything. And for those who know the protesters of the OWS Movement to be heroes who have the courage to demand we take America back, HEIST will reaffirm what has always been swept under the rug: our government is bought and paid for by corporations. Exploring the roles of the Heritage Foundation, government deregulation, and tax policies written by and for big corporations, this film will not only infuriate the average American, but will also educate on how we can reclaim what was stolen from us. Every President since Carter and both sides of the political aisle are guilty, and as HEIST proves: we are all victims in the largest heist in American history. – T.W.
