About This Film
Film Overview
It's simple, really. See, Jill thought Jamie was a man, and when it turned out she wasn't, they had an affair anyway. But that had to end because that would have made Jill, well, a lesbian. So Jill does what anybody would do. She joins a lesbian-conversion therapy group so she can be straight again. Problem solved. To show how totally un-lesbian she has become and how heterosexual she really is, she asks Jamie to “date” her again. Jamie, who is working on a film with a crew of dysfunctional gay, bisexual, and undecideds, agrees to this arrangement. Jamie still loves Jill, and she only wants to help her out. Besides, what could possibly go wrong? Mixing campy and outrageous humor with razor sharp observations, HETEROSEXUAL JILL skewers just about everything: conversion therapy, support groups, lesbian folk songs, filmmaking, dating, and sex. Most of all, it makes us laugh at the amazingly twisted knots we sometimes tie ourselves in to discover exactly who we are. —C.R.
