About This Film
Film Overview
In this world there are givers and takers. Vlasta has spent her entire life at the beckoning of others. Like clockwork, she patiently makes her routine rounds as an in-home care nurse, often walking through the sprawling rural landscapes to make ends meet. When she returns home, she’s met by her dispassionate but loyal husband, Láda, who takes her tenderness for granted. One night, as Vlasta treks home in the rain, an accident leads to a discovery about her well-being that will shake up their quiet daily lives. As she lets go of her stringent beliefs in science, she scrambles for cures in a stumbling yet uplifting dive into alternative medicine, rituals, and therapy. But through this roller coaster of hope and despair, Vlasta discovers what she must find most of all: herself. HOME CARE is an examination of the disconnect that grows among loved ones over years of silent weathering, the desperation we face when confronted with the realization that our time is limited, and the moments of uncertainty between.
