About This Film
Film Overview
It is Radim and Tereza's wedding day. Before the ceremony, Radim's young son breaks his glasses. At a nearby optical shop, the optician recognizes Radim, follows him, and attends the wedding. Later, at the reception, this same man who calls himself Jan Benda arrives uninvited with a gift. He unsettles some of the guests with his insinuating manner and dark talk. Finally Tereza asks him to leave. Jan refuses to go until she has opened his gift. Upon doing so, she finds an urn that contains the ashes of… Jan Benda. Radim throws him out, but this is far from over. The next morning Jan is back. He has a story to tell and justice to seek. Now all of the carefully built walls of truth and security are coming apart, brick by brick. Is Jan’s shocking story true? And if it is, what must happen and who must pay to see that some sort of justice is done? Dynamic and tense, HONEYMOON shows we can never be certain of the ties that bind us.
