About This Film
Film Overview
To many, World War II is a distant memory. And to our youth, its importance can be lost in the modern world. Although there are still veterans of the war living among us, based on recent statistics we are losing them at the rate of approximately 900 per day. To this dwindling number of men and women the images of the war remain vivid. The impact of what they experienced continues to weigh heavy on their hearts and minds. It would be impossible to truly repay these brave veterans for their service. However, the Honor Flight Network – a non-profit organization started in Springfield, Ohio in 2005 – aims to try by giving the vets a final mission: fly them to Washington, D.C. to see the WWII memorial that was built in 2004. HONOR FLIGHT follows a Milwaukee affiliate as they rally to make these flights a reality for their heroes. As the community comes together to raise funds, their lives are transformed by the stories of the soldiers they meet. HONOR FLIGHT is a poignant, intensely emotional documentary that will warm your heart. – E.F.
