Film Overview

Following the sudden and tragic death of his brother, British expat Jack stays stateside to help his sister-in-law (Alicia Witt) raise his unborn niece. Now it's five years later, Jack's visa is expired, and he's facing deportation back to England. I DO is a heartwarming and genuine film about love, family, and all the things that make us human. With the sad prospect of leaving his niece and his career as a fashion photographer behind, Jack asks his best friend Ali (played charmingly by Jamie-Lynn Sigler), who happens to be a lesbian, to marry him to save his visa. But when Jack falls for a handsome Spaniard, his friendship with Ali is put to the test and she begins to feel that risking her freedom for his visa isn't “happily ever after” enough. With the grips on his family, friends, and lover loosening by the day, Jack must reprioritize all that he knows and loves before it's too late. Award-winning and an audience favorite at gay film festivals all over the country, I DO reminds us all that love is the tie that binds and that two little words can change everything. – T.W.
