About This Film
Film Overview
IMMATURE is a feel-good ensemble comedy that brings together a group of classmates 20 years after secondary school graduation. Except the former friends haven't graduated after all; the authorities have determined their final exams were flawed, so now they'll need to retake them. To pass the grueling “Maturità ” and get on with their lives, these almost-40s meet to cram together, like in the old days. Their reunion brings up former rivalries and stokes new passions. Giorgio is a child psychologist who's terrified of becoming a father; Luisa spends so much time at her job marketing soup that there's nothing for her daughter to eat at home; Lorenzo, a realtor, lives with his parents; Francesca is a master chef and recovering sex addict who doesn't recognize a suitable partner when he's staring her in the face; Piero lies to keep his young mistress; and Virgilio harbors an untruth that caused the group's breakup all those years ago. Belatedly, and with each other's help, these immature friends begin to grow up. (In Italian with subtitles) –B.B.
