In recounting Styron’s life, IN THE COMPANY OF ROSE provides dishy details thanks to her proximity to such prolific talents as Truman Capote, Dylan Thomas, and James Baldwin. The film also focuses on the controversies and praise that surrounded her husband’s work. Additionally, the film highlights Styron’s success in her own right, as she spent decades working within Amnesty International for global rights and producing her own works of poetry.
