Film Overview

INVENTORY is a compact psychological drama that is completely contemporary, giving us a probing and acute sense of Poland as it faces its current problems. Tomek, a young geography student, meets Julia, a woman in her mid?30s, when she is close to a nervous breakdown. Having been raised to help people in need, he invites Julia to come home with him. At first, his mother, Zofia, welcomes Julia. Soon, though, Zofia notices that the relationship between Tomek and Julia is growing stronger. When Zofia decides she will no longer support the couple, Tomek goes to West Berlin to earn money. In his absence, Julia once again verges on a nervous breakdown. An intimate portrait with finely detailed performances, INVENTORY is a sensitive and revealing work.
