Jitters

JITTERS is a coming-of-age story featuring a strong cast of Icelandic teen actors. Sixteen-year-old Gabriel is ambivalent about his sexual orientation. While off studying English in Manchester for a few weeks, he engages in extracurricular activity with his roommate Markus. Gabriel returns home to his close-knit circle of partying friends, who tell him he's changed somehow. Easygoing Gabriel is often treated as a confidant by his peers as they deal with their fair share of drama. His best friend Stella is being hounded by her grandmother because she has a boyfriend who's a foreigner. Greta can't stand living with her drunken mother, so she moves out and starts looking for her missing father. Teddi is a party animal just looking to get laid. Gabriel has problems of his own; his controlling mother is snooping through his computer, and sooner or later he'll have to admit his feelings for Markus. When tragedy suddenly strikes, though, the teenagers are shocked into rethinking their priorities. (In English and Icelandic with subtitles) –B.B.
