In Connor O’Hara’s moving and humane tale of grief, George Somner (Sex Education) stars as a terminally ill young man who reunites with his childhood friends, each of whom has been given a particular ritualistic task, to find some lasting meaning in his final summer on Earth. —M.G.
When Sid receives a terminal diagnosis, his family and childhood friends gather together in their hometown to make the most of his final days. Determined not to be forgotten, Sid combines his love for astronomy and his love for his friends to create a collective ritual that will allow him to live on after he’s gone. But preparing for this ritual and dividing his finite time between his parents, friends, and new love interest comes with challenges. And with emotions heightened, everyone struggles to deal with their individual and collective grief. A bittersweet and moving story of loss and lasting love, KINDLING will have you looking towards the stars for all that lives on above us. —G.S.
