About This Film
Film Overview
Shira has finally found the woman of her dreams, Maria, and she’s ready to settle down. But everyone in Shira’s family is skeptical of this newfound love—not because Maria is a woman, but because she seems to be one in a very long line of “new” girlfriends who come and go. In fact, Shira can’t stop running into all of her ex’s on the street, which proves to be problematic when Maria comes to live with her in Tel Aviv. And there’s one other issue: Maria is German, and Shira’s grandmother, a Holocaust survivor, strongly disapproves. But Grandma may know a thing or two herself about taboo romance…. A multicultural tale of forbidden love, KISS ME KOSHER follows Shira and Maria through the chaotic mishaps of their complicated relationship, while also following Shira’s grandmother through the challenges of her own star-crossed love. Top it all off with an accidental proposal and you’ve got a heartfelt and hilarious romantic comedy for the ages. (In English, German, Hebrew, and Arabic with subtitles) — G.S.
