About This Film
Film Overview
Summer is drawing to a close in the suburbs of Paris, and the final days of freedom are at hand for a group of teenagers. The major topic of conversation amoung the boys is girls (and among girls, boys). Martine and Sandrine, though very different, remain the closest of friends. They are both on the threshold of love, learning about its hardships and pitfalls, and how to deal with sexuality in terms of the established taboos. The superb young cast is composed entirely of non-actors who depict the joy, the pain, the exhiliration, and the angst of first love with sympathy and honesty. L'AMOUR is a very special film about the coming of age of a group of teenagers who, through trial and error, must come to terms with their dreams in the face of reality.
