Film Overview

Pasha is a petty-thief-turned-Robin-Hood. As the leader of the Lantouri gang, he orchestrates robberies and heists that target the rich. He and his associates use the money to support a local orphanage, which is where Pasha was raised. Due to their mastery of manipulation and a resolve to leave victims unharmed, they have managed to stay out of jail. But their perfect scheme begins to crumble when Pasha meets Maryam, a local reporter and activist. She’s spent her career fighting against the death penalty and severe punishment, trying to convince victims to forgive their aggressors. Pasha is madly in love with Maryam, but it’s unrequited. Though he’s convinced she’ll fall for him, his sense of entitlement is ironic—considering his contempt for privilege. When he’s finally had enough rejection, Pasha takes drastic steps to ensure Maryam will never be with anyone else. This gruesome event will force her to question everything she’s ever believed about revenge. Can she forgive, even though Pasha has taken away her ability to do what she loves? Find out in this explosive, action-packed crime thriller, LANTOURI. (In Farsi with subtitles) —E.F.
