Film Overview
Drawing on autobiographical details, LATE SUMMER BLUES follows a group of seven Israeli boys and girls during the period between their high school exams and the military draft. The group of friends has faced many of the challenges of growing up together, and now, with the war of attrition raging at the Suez Canal, these young adults are forced to come to grips with not only their social and self-images, but indeed life and death. This film provides a very real picture of Israel today, the challenges its people face, and the effects of those challenges on the country's youth.
