Thirty-three-year-old Lianna has been married to English professor Dick Massey since she was an undergraduate in college. But their relationship is wearing thin. His confidence, which initially attracted her to him, has become overbearing and cruel. Even their children, Spencer and Theda, continuously feel belittled.
