About This Film
Film Overview
Laura is a loving mother and wife who works at a bakery and is constantly being suckered into attending her sister's cheesy scrapbooking parties. It's not an awful life. But for a creative person such as herself, it's hardly satisfying. Her youngest son is experiencing a similar struggle. While his father and brothers enjoy everything sports, Shane is an outsider, still trying to find his passion. After abandoning it years ago, Laura decides to pick up her guitar again. She's pretty rusty and incredibly self-conscious, but her dream of becoming a famous songwriter is as strong as ever. Her family tries to be considerate, but most of them think she's goofy. Except for Shane, that is. Tagging along to open-mic nights with his mom, he discovers his own enthusiasm for creating music. As it turns out, he's a natural. Together, through the power of music, they're finally able to make sense of a world they've felt so lost in. LIFE INSIDE OUT is an inspiring tale of the good that comes when you follow your heart. —E.F.
