About This Film
Film Overview
Original thinker Miranda July makes an auspicious feature debut with ME, YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW, a poetic piece on how people struggle to connect with one another. July herself plays Christine Jesperson, a lonely woman who uses her fantastic powers of imagination to draw desires and objects of desire to her. Richard Swersey is a single father of two boys; his seven-year-old is having a dicey romance on the Internet with a stranger, and his 14-year-old brother becomes the guinea pig for neighborhood girls practicing for future romance and marriage. When Richard meets Christine, he initially backs away. What makes this film so daring and interesting is the way the characters speak the truth, experience events that seem to be surreal, and find redemption in the smallest moments.
