At the dawn of World War 11 eight young Italian soldiers arrive at a remote Greek isle, heavilyarined and scared, a would?be invasion force. Greeted only by foreboding graffiti “Greece Is The Tomb For Italians,” the men see their ship sunk, their radio broken, all contact with the outside lost. Then they meet the natives: a village of the elderly, women and children (Germans took away the men) who easily accept the newcomers. As weeks pass, the occupiers' resolve melts away under the languorous Aegean sun, as they fmd new fiiends, loves and destinies that have nothing to do with the Axis. Greece indeed becomes a tomb for the Italians, but how long can they hold on to this heaven on Earth? A witty and passionate comedy-drama.
