About This Film
Film Overview
Three of the cinema's finest actors -Liv Ullman, John Heard, and Sam Waterston- here create one of the rare and wonderful creatures in the world of cinema: an intellectual film. Playing a physicist, a poet, and a politician, respectively, these three meet by chance on the spectacular island fortress of Mont St. Michel in Brittany. Their lively conversations focus on the great social, moral, environmental, and political issues of the late 20th century, revealing both the interconnectedness of all things and the need to develop a new, holistic approach to the world's ills. Compared by many to MY DINNER WITH ANDRE (6th CIFF 1982), MINDWALK presents some very serious subjects in a riveting and accessible manner, and is based on the 1982 bestseller “The Turning Point” by physicist Fritjof Capra.
