MIRACLE MILE

When his car breaks down near Johnny's All Night Coffee Shop, Harry (Anthony Edwards) goes to the payphone to call a tow truck. But before he can make his call, the phone rings. On the other end, a frantic voice rambles on about how “the button” has been pushed, and how within hours Los Angeles would be hit with nuclear weapons. Confused and scared, Harry stumbles into the coffee shop to announce what he's just heard. What follows is a frantic attempt by five people to escape a terror-stricken city in this very exciting, oddly humorous film, a kind of lunatic cross between AFTER HOURS and REPO MAN drenched with suspense.
