Film Overview
Escaping from Hitler's rise in Europe, a British Governess arrives in Argentina to care for the three childrem of a wealthy family. Miss Mary (Julie Christie) soon sees beneath the superficial grandeur of their lives to the currputness which has affected even the children. But, it is a more personal tragedy which rocks the household and persuades Miss Mary to pack her bags. Told through flack backs, we are gradually made aware of the scandal that has blackened this paradise.
