About This Film
Film Overview
As a rookie cop, Adi just wants to do what's right. The rest of his force is jaded and seemingly uninterested in saving the world from crime. In fact, it becomes blatantly clear to him that corruption is fairly widespread. He finds himself feeling isolated, unsure who to trust. When a string of murders takes place, Adi is sent on his first assignment. His bosses have pressured him to follow a man who they claim—despite any real evidence—is responsible for the deaths. After chasing the suspect on foot, Adi is presented with an opportunity to shoot. If he doesn't, he risks letting a murderer get away. Before revealing his choice, MONSOON SHOOTOUT takes us through three possible scenarios, each with very different outcomes. Director Amit Kumar's film is a riveting thriller full of shootouts and high energy action sequences. By exploring the various ramifications of Adi's actions, Kumar (who also wrote the screenplay) examines the heavy responsibility that comes with pulling the trigger. (In Hindi with subtitles) —E.F.
