Film Overview
Liza Minnelli plays a gifted singer, Francine Evans, who hooks up with saxophonist Jimmy Doyle (Robert De Niro) on V-J Day. The packaged nostalgia takes us from the big-band era through the fifties, on the muscians' road and into the nightclub scene.
