North Sea Texas

Pim is a dreamer, an introspective teenager who lives a dead-end life on a dead-end street on the Belgian coast. He's neglected by his mother Yvette, a washed-up former glamour girl. Pim longs for a life of beauty; as a child, he dressed up in Yvette's tiara, pretending he was a princess. Now his dreams focus on Gino, the older biker boy next door. When Yvette runs off with a hunky carnival worker, Pim goes to live with Gino's family. Swearing him to secrecy, Gino takes the younger boy camping and introduces him to sex. When Gino decides it's time to grow up and take an interest in girls, Pim's world falls apart. But one rainy day, something happens to bring his dreams within reach. Director Bavo Defurne imbues every scene of NORTH SEA TEXAS with grace. He has called it a happy film about the life the boys from “Brokeback Mountain” could have had.
