NUTS!

Every great society needs a daring pathfinder; a person who forsakes all expectations and becomes the pioneer of his/her generation; a person who possesses the gall to say, “You know what? Imma put goat testis in men with sex problems.” Ladies and gentlemen, I give you NUTS!, a mostly-true, animated documentary about a man whose vision made him the world’s foremost “goat gland transplanter.” (If you’re wondering which goat gland, refer to the title of the film. If you still don’t know, hand this program to your parents.) A pioneer of advertising and self-promotion, a one-day candidate for Governor of Kansas, and the man who started Mexico border blaster radio, Dr. J.R. Brinkley rolled into the small town of Milford, Kansas in 1918 and single-handedly put it on the map once word of his miraculous cure for male impotence got out. From there Brinkley went on to have the type of life that can only happen in America, where the American Dream is dreamt by those with the NUTS! to dream it. –T.W.
