About This Film
Film Overview
With her Ph.D. nearly complete and a promising law career in Buenos Aires, Paulina is on the path to success. To the shock and dismay of her father, a prominent judge, she announces her plan to set all this aside in order to teach at an impoverished suburban school. She believes it is the right thing to do, and nobody can dissuade her. After only a short time at this new job, Paulina is attacked one night and brutally raped by a gang. She soon discovers who attacked her and that she may be pregnant as a result. This sets in motion a series of nearly incomprehensible decisions on her part. As her father struggles to keep his daughter's life and career intact, Paulina begins making choices that may be pulling her deeper into danger. It seems she has a plan. PAULINA explores the thin lines between morality and self-preservation, survival and sacrifice. Is the shock of her assault fueling a delusion, or is there a deeper meaning to actions nobody else can understand? (In Spanish with subtitles) –C.R.
