Peking Opera Blues

This incredibly crafted, colorful, and fast-paced film was the unqualified hit of the Toronto Film Festival. Set in Hong Kong in 1911, it's an action-packed comedy, unlike anything you've seen before, about three beautiful women who would like to change their positions in life. The daughter of a war lord joins an underground liberation movement, a greedy maid flees with the jewels of an aristocrat after his collapse, and the daughter of an opera troupe owner wants to be a performer herself despite her father's objections.
