About This Film
Film Overview
PIG is a severe and unsettling twist on Groundhog's Day, where a bound man continually comes to his senses in the middle of the empty desert, his mind wiped clean of memories. The man, parched and disoriented, finds shelter with a beautiful woman who both cleans his wounds and stirs romantic feelings neither of them fully understand. Driven to find out his true identity, the man follows a string of clues, both sinister and happenstance, only to find himself circling back to the desert over and over. Encounters with past lovers, visits to former residences, run-ins with colleagues—all of it triggers some connections, but none of it completes the picture of his identity. When the truth finally surfaces, who he is and what he's done becomes more and more unbearable with each disconcerting revelation. A sci-fi suspense story with confounding twists and turns, director Henry Barrial's PIG leaves you questioning how some people can carry the weight of who they really are. – S.H.
