Born in Mississippi, and with the early tragedy of her parents’ death, Gregory fought against systemic oppression and racism in the American South to pursue her passion for the sport of golf. Told opposite the rise of white fellow female golfer Babs Whatling, the film takes a heartwarming and celebratory look at Gregory’s triumph over these obstacles, becoming an inspiration to generations of Black women and athletes and instilling a legacy that led her to achieve over 300 championship prizes. —C.F.GUEST(S) ARE SCHEDULED TO BE IN ATTENDANCE FOR Q&A
