About This Film
Film Overview
WWDD? Sergio is a screenwriter who can't quite get an authentic feel for his latest script without actually scouting the locations where it is set. While visiting a desert town in north Chile, he is mistaken for Diego, the village's long lost hero gunslinger. Now, Sergio is up against Diego's old nemesis Victor, the local crime boss who is out to settle an old score. Expertly directed by Diego Rougier and beautifully shot, SALT is an old school Western set in modern South America. Complete with dirty villains, gunplay, horses, and a damsel-in-distress, the film works as an homage to the classics of westerns' golden age. It's up to Sergio and his new mentor Viejo Vizcacha, who has a score to settle of his own, to take Victor down. But how does a down-and-out screenwriter become a gun-slinging hero and save the town and his script? He asks, “What Would Diego Do?” (In Spanish with subtitles) – T.W.
