SECOND AWAKENING OF CHRISTA KLAGES, THE

This new film by influential actress-turned-director von Trotta ( 1972's “A Free Woman”) concerns three contemporary young women, each in a fervent but confused search for her identity. Christa Klages (Tina Engel) robs a bank in order to keep her non-authoritarian daycare center open, but is forced into hiding when her male accomplices are captured by the police. The ensuing incidents serve to awaken the social consciousness of Klages and the women who help her.
