Film Overview
A man running naked through the streets of Buenos Aires is picked up by the police. He is unable to remember his name and thinks the year is 1976. Gradually he pieces together his identity: Fermin Garcia, activist, arrested in 1976 and… killed? Fermin returns to his village in search of Tota, his fianc6. She is still there, waiting for him, but is so obsessed with his old image that she can't recognize him. Finding a job as a piano player, Fermin takes on a new identity, and gradually establishes a new romance with Tota. But Fermin finds his old surroundings too familiar. Fourteen years after his disappearance, madness and corruption still permeate the air, and the church still exercises an oppressive influence, suggesting that, in effect, little has changed in Argentina.
