About This Film
Film Overview
Mona may pop any minute now. The bun in her oven might even be a little overcooked. A perpetual loner in a hideous orange coat, she spends most of her time working as a cashier in a third-rate Brooklyn supermarket. She doesn’t have much to look forward to, except maybe going to A.A. meetings with her mother and trying to rekindle her relationship with her estranged sister Jordan – both of whom have serious issues of their own. Kicked out of her apartment, Mona overstays her welcome with Jordan and her fed-up partner Sylvie. When a crisis sends everyone in Mona’s world colliding, we witness a train wreck in slow motion. Director Drew Tobia treats us to about a dozen more collisions with his offbeat (mostly female) cast of misfits. For those who like their humor to cut deep and bleed profusely, SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY is a black comedy full of human beings with serrated edges. —C.P.
