An urgent and earnest film that documents what no world leaders have yet been able to do: bring Palestinians and Jews, Indians and Pakistanis together to talk to and learn from each other. The setting is a typical U.S. summer camp in Maine; but the focus is daunting. Founded in 1993 by journalist John Wallach, the nonprofit ?Seeds of Peace International? brings more than 150 teenagers together from various parts of the world. How do you speak to your enemy? How do you acknowledge the people who murder your people? Slowly and painfully, according to this noble film. Being a teenager helps; it cuts across religious and nationality lines. But these ?seeds,? as Wallach calls them, need help sprouting. There are arguments and bonding rituals as the film goes day by day for 22 days. Nothing is easy, as the teens find out, especially this nut of wisdom: ?In order to make peace with your enemy, you have to go to war with yourself.?
