About This Film
Film Overview
When you least expect it, you fall in love. Emilie is an elegant fabric designer. A stranger in Nantes, she asks Gabriel for directions, and he offers her a ride. They pass a charming afternoon and evening together and, when it's time to part, he asks her for one kiss. Emilie hesitates, then begins to tell the tale of the terrible consequences that one simple kiss can have. What unfolds is Emilie's story about her good friend Judith who has a platonic relationship with her best friend Nicholas (played by SHALL WE KISS? director Emmanuel Mouret). Judith is happily married to the doting Claudio but meets Nicholas regularly for coffee and conversation. When Nicholas begins having girlfriend troubles, he naturally turns to Judith for advice. They agree that the only way she can help him is to provide kisses, with no strings attached. When it turns out that neither of them will be satisfied with just one kiss, they cook up a scheme to get Claudio involved with another woman, hoping he won't feel hurt and they won't feel guilty. A frothy comedy of manners among sophisticates, the plot hinges on Claudio's love of Schubert. (In French with English subtitles) – B.B.
