Film Overview

In Mumbai, a newly wedded woman finds that her new normal is anything but. As she begins to question every moment of married life, troubling psychological changes begin to take form. Is this a nervous breakdown, or is she turning into something…feral? Winner of the 2024 Fantastic Fest Next Wave Award.Post-Screening Q&A:  Pablo Salvador N.G., Visiting Assistant College Lecturer, India Scholar and filmmaker in residence at CSU School of Film & Media Arts, will lead a post-screening Q&A on Sister Midnight’s visual aesthetics, narrative choices, and portrayal of Indian culture. Pablo has worked extensively as filmmaker in Europe, South America and India, where he was Chair in Academic Innovation and filmmaker in residence at India's largest film school: Whistling Woods Institute of Film & Media. The discussion will explore themes of identity, tradition, and modernity, as well as how the film blends cultural influences and navigates its social and cinematic context.
